Mizpah Organization was founded in April 2021 by a young, vibrant philanthropist and civil engineer, Joseph Nyakeh Boima, who currently serves as its Executive Director.

Joseph Nyakeh Boima was born on August 10, 1995, in Bo City, Southern Province, Sierra Leone, West Africa. He grew up in a family that placed immense value on education, driven by the belief that «Education is the ultimate gift you can give a child», a principle deeply instilled by his parents.

From an early age, Joseph benefited from a supportive home environment and a positive school atmosphere, which nurtured his self-confidence and solidified his commitment to academic excellence. He completed his primary and secondary education in Sierra Leone before pursuing higher education abroad. In pursuit of his dreams, he was admitted to the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Novosibirsk, the capital of Siberia, Russia.

Before leaving Sierra Leone for Russia, Joseph displayed an early passion for service and leadership. In 2012, he served his country for the first time as a polling agent with the National Electoral Commission (NEC) during the Presidential and Parliamentary elections. His duties included recording and verifying voters, a role that underscored his commitment to civic responsibility.

In 2015, Joseph worked as an enumerator for Statistics Sierra Leone during the national Population and Housing Census (December 5–18). Tasked with surveying households within his assigned area, Joseph witnessed firsthand the extreme poverty many families faced, particularly the plight of children who lacked basic necessities. This experience deepened his resolve to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Sierra Leone's most vulnerable populations.

Joseph has always been deeply involved in community programs and professional organizations across Sierra Leone. His roles include:

• Mission Coordinator, Southern Province, for the Youth for Jesus Campaign (YFGC) – Sierra Leone.

• National Internal Auditor for the Sierra Leone Youth Leadership Federation.

• Organizing Secretary for the National Union of Students, OBBA (OBBA-NUS) – Sierra Leone.

These roles reflect his leadership abilities and unwavering dedication to community service. Through his efforts, Joseph has empowered young people, organized impactful projects, and fostered unity within various groups.

 

The experiences and values Joseph cultivated through his education, work, and service have become the foundation for the Mizpah Organization. Established to address poverty, promote education, and support vulnerable communities, Mizpah is a testament to Joseph’s commitment to creating lasting change in Sierra Leone. He continues to lead the organization with vision and passion, striving to build a better future for his country.
