CHALLENGES
Like the 11 years (1991 – 2002) of cold blooded civil war in Sierra Leone, that increased regional instability and destroyed innocent lives.
Among its most helpless victims were thousands upon thousands of children who were born into poverty or became impoverished during childhood owing to events outside their control.
The civil war erupted in the country suffering from persistent poverty or sharp economic decline. A country that was hit by Ebola virus outbreak (2014-2015). And at the moment, they are victims of the current global pandemic ( corona virus ).
And all these disasters has affected lots of children up till date, as most Sierra Leoneans are living under $ 1.25 a day.
SOLUTION
MIZPAH ORGANIZATION is devoting and advocating this issue to people, to the world as a whole to understanding what childhood poverty entails.
By supporting a child through education, we believe that is one of the major weapon in fighting severe poverty and disconnecting the poverty chain.
The fact that poverty during childhood has such harmful and lasting effects, we suggests that well-conceived (properly devised) and timely interventions in early childhood could go far (could rarely help) to address or prevent extreme poverty later in life.
LONG-TERM IMPACT
Creating a social connectedness is strong, progressive and virtual norms for vulnerable children.
These features of social life make it possible to be care for, protect and nurture a child-creating the conditions that well enable him or her to discover and take advantage of opportunities later in life in a manner that helps prevent or provide escape from poverty cycles.
